WHAT TO BRING?
Every year, some campers turn up with three instruments and zero towels. A question of priorities we completely understand — but one we'd still like to help you avoid. Between sessions that stretch on into the small hours, the jumper you swear you won't need in May and end up regretting by the first evening, and the spare strings you're "sure you packed," there's always one small thing that stays quietly at home. So this time, let's make sure it's not you. Here are a few things not to forget.
The Essentials
-
Your instrument — yes, it sounds obvious, but hey... check twice, no judgement here. And don't forget your spare strings.
-
A sleeping bag (or a blanket) — only sheets will be provided on arrival, and while tartan looks lovely, it won't keep you warm. There's heating in the bungalows, but you probably don't want to leave a good night's sleep down to a coin toss in Brittany in May.
-
Wash bag essentials — towel, flannel, shower gel… We'd rather your first move post-shower wasn't drying yourself off with your fiddle case.
-
A jumper, and ideally a windbreaker or rain jacket — the weather's been on our side so far, but this is Brittany, not the French Riviera: the sky can change its mind faster than a guitarist deciding whether to jump in on a polka.
Optional
Drinks and snacks to share — for aperitifs, sweet-tooth breaks, or the after-party, feel free to bring something to nibble on or toast with to share with the group. A reusable cup will be handed to you on arrival, so the evening doesn't end with a dozen different glasses scattered around the camp.
